The sacrificial and violent death of the Sacred King (the son of the queen or of the Neolithic goddess), was the outstanding part of an archaic ritual that, periodically, pursued the propitiatory influence of the invisible forces and energies of the Goddess-Earth on the renewal of the cosmos and the expiation of the impurities and the faults of the village.
